Influence the future of PRS

Stand for election to the Members’ Council

We’re inviting members who value the power of collective voices to step forward and help shape our future.

The PRS Members’ Council plays a key role in keeping us connected to what matters most to members.

In 2026, we will have three writer positions available on the Members’ Council. If you’re interested, let us know by filling out the Expression of Interest Form

About the Members' Council | PRS for Music

Nominations will close at 5pm on Wednesday 11 February 2026.

  1. You must be eligible to apply
As there are only writer vacancies open, only writer members can apply. You must be a Principal Voting Member to apply. To check your membership category, log in to prsformusic.com. If you’re unsure, contact us

  2. Express your interest to stand
If you are eligible to stand for nomination, please fill out our Expression of Interest Form.
After we receive your expression of interest and have confirmed your eligibility, we’ll send you a nomination form.

  3. Submit your completed nomination form

You have until 5pm on Wednesday 11 February 2026 to submit your completed nomination. Your supporters must also submit their confirmation of support by this deadline.

To submit your nomination form, you’ll need:

  • to declare that you are willing and eligible to stand.
  • to have names, membership (CAE/IPI) numbers and email addresses of 10 PRS Principal Voting Members to support your nomination.
  • a short biography of up to 300 words.
  • a short manifesto statement of approximately 300 words, describing the unique experience and values that you bring to the role.
  • a recent high resolution headshot photo – head and shoulders (do not crop the photo).
  • a list of any current or recent directorships within the last five years.

The Governance team will review and confirm that your form is valid and that you are eligible to stand for election to the Members’ Council. If there are more eligible candidates than seats available, we will hold a ballot among voting members to determine successful candidates eligible for appointment to the Members’ Council.

The details you submit with your nomination form, including the names of your 10 supporters, will be published in the 2026 Members’ Council ballot materials that will be shared with all voting members.

Once the candidates list is confirmed, you can start planning to canvass for votes.

PRS will provide canvassing support before the ballot opens, including:

  • working with our creative team to film a video statement to speak directly to voting members and share why you want to represent them on the Members’ Council
  • social media assets and guidance
  • a list of members that are eligible to vote, including their membership categories and postal contacts for the sole purpose of enabling you to canvass for votes. You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement to access this list.

The results of the ballot will be made available on our website within a week of the ballot closing. Successful candidates eligible for appointment to the Members’ Council will be formally announced at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) members’ approval.

The date of the AGM will be announced soon. Members who are eligible to vote at the AGM will receive notice of the meeting closer to the time.
