Standing for election to the PRS Members' Council

The PRS Members’ Council ballot is now open.

There are three writer and four publisher vacancies in 2025.

Candidates can find out more about the ballot and AGM below.

Canvassing for votes during the ballot

  1. Video statement
  2. A video statement gives you the chance to speak directly to voting members and share why you want to represent them on the Members’ Council.

If you chose to record a 2-minute video statement for your candidate profile, your video can be viewed on PRS’s website and the ballot site hosted by Civica.

  3. Social media assets & guidance
  4. You can engage with the community that you’re hoping to represent on the Council via your personal social media pages. To support you in this process, PRS will provide you with visual assets which will include your name and photo.

Read our guidance and top tips for posting on social media during the ballot period.

  5. List of eligible PRS voters
  6. If you haven’t already requested this, PRS can also share a list of members that are eligible to vote, including their membership categories and postal contacts for the sole purpose of enabling you to canvass for votes. You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement to access this list.

As there are more eligible candidates than seats available, we are holding a ballot to determine successful candidates eligible for appointment to the Members’ Council.

The Members’ Council ballot is managed by Civica Election Services (‘CES’) on PRS’ behalf.
Voting will close at 5pm on Tuesday 6 May.

The ballot booklet, including candidate details and canvassing video statements, is available on the ballot site hosted by Civica, as well as our website. Voting members can view this information to help them decide which candidates best represent their views on the Members’ Council. In addition to this, candidates may engage directly with voting members to canvass for votes.
