Royalty payments
PRS pay royalties to our members through four main distributions each year:
- April
- July
- October
- December
From August 2025, PRS will pay out royalties from online streaming services (MTOL), monthly.
MCPS pay royalties each month and overseas royalties may differ.
The dates below are an estimate of when we’ll let you know if you’ll receive payment. Follow us on our social media channels for real time updates ahead of royalty distributions.

Usual timings from play to pay
The time it takes to pay royalties varies, depending on how and where the music is being used. For example, if your work is played on TV in January, we might not know about this until April so the most likely payment date will be our July distribution.
