The 2026 PRS Members’ Council ballot is now open.

This year, there are seven writer candidates standing for three writer Council Member vacancies.

If you don’t have an online account, you can still vote by requesting your unique voting link from our independent scrutineer, Civica. Click below to follow the steps:

Voting closes on Tuesday 14 April 2026 at 5pm BST. 

The results of the ballot and the names of the individuals eligible for appointment to the Members’ Council will be published on prsformusic.com/ballot on 21 April 2026, and will be formally announced at the AGM on Monday 11 May 2026 for members’ approval.

To vote in the Members’ Council ballot, you must be either:

  • A Voting, Voting Plus or Principal Voting member, or 
  • Hold a valid Power of Attorney from a Voting, Voting Plus or Principal Voting Member, or 
  • Have been appointed as a representative for a writer that is a Voting, Voting Plus or Principal Voting Member. 

Writer members and successors to writer members can vote for up to three writer candidates.  

There are no publisher positions available this year.  

Weighting of your votes

  • Voting members – each candidate you select will receive one vote
  • Voting Plus member – each candidate you select will receive five votes
  • Principal Voting members – each candidate you select will receive ten votes, and if you qualify for additional voting rights, each candidate will receive a further ten votes
