December 2025 Distribution Update
A PRS record-breaking £244.2m in royalties to be paid out on 15 December
It’s our largest single distribution in PRS for Music’s history and a 4% increase in pay outs year-on-year.
We’re paying out a record-breaking £244.2m in royalties on 15 December to more than 38,000 music creators and publishers. Around 350 songwriters are getting royalties for the first time.
The largest payouts include £98m from international royalties, £13.5m from radio and £12.8m from video on demand services like Netflix, Disney+ and Apple. A further £9.6m comes from video games and over £8.9m from live concerts.
So far this year, we’ve paid royalties out to over 88,000 members, with one more payment to come on 22 December.

We pay out royalties on or near the 15th of the month throughout the year.
Monthly distribution: Online streaming and the major live concert service (MLCS).
Main distribution in April, July, October, December: Broadcast, video on demand, online streaming, public performance, live concerts, public reception, and revenue from international societies.
To receive a royalty payment, you must meet the distribution threshold. Once you do, we pay out in the next distribution.
The threshold for members with UK bank accounts is £30, it is £60 if you bank outside the UK, and £100 for affiliated societies. We reduce the threshold to £1 for UK bank account holders only in the main distribution in October.
