Our licences cover the use of PRS members’ music on your digital service, like websites, intranet sites and apps. This includes the right to communicate (play out) music to the public and the mechanical rights needed to make it available online

From streaming and downloads to playing out music from a service, we’ve got you covered with licences tailored to your needs. Explore the options below.

Our licences don’t cover content you post on third-party platforms like Youtube, Facebook or Instagram. Those platforms usually have their own agreements in place for live-streamed or uploaded music, so your use of music there should be covered by them.

Other licences you might need

Licences from PPL

PRS for Music offers licences for the use of works on behalf of writers, composers and publishers. You must also seek a licence from the owner of the sound recording of the work, which is usually a record company.

Please contact Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) to establish who owns the sound recording you want to use.

Issuing a digital copy with a vinyl purchase

If you are offering a digital copy with the purchase of a vinyl, you'll need a Vinyl Copy Code licence.
