Proposed for appointment by: John Beck, Brad Ellis, Charlotte Haining, Rob Harvey, Sam Merrifield, John Morgan, Bhav Pattani, Karen Poole, Freya Ridings, Jordan Shaw

Ollie Green is a multi-platinum songwriter, producer, and vocal producer whose work has been streamed well over four billion times worldwide. He has been featured as Spotify UK’s Songwriter of the Month and has had recent releases with artists including Kygo, Alok, Alesso, Bebe Rexha, Jess Glynne, James Bay, David Guetta, Rita Ora, Ella Henderson, Grimes, Emeli Sandé, Venbee, Sub Focus, Tom Grennan, and many others.

Ollie has played an instrumental role in the careers of Freya Ridings and Gavin James. He produced much of Freya’s debut album, which charted at number three in the UK, including the hit single Lost Without You. The track has sold over one million copies, spending five months in the Official UK Top 20, and is only the second record in UK chart history to re-enter the Top 10 on four separate occasions. He also wrote and produced on two of Tom Grennan’s recent albums, both of which reached number one on the UK Official Charts, and most recently contributed to number-one albums with Sub Focus and James Bay.

Originally from Scarborough in North Yorkshire, Ollie understands first-hand the barriers facing writers and artists outside London when trying to build sustainable careers. Now based in North London, he actively seeks out and collaborates with new and under-the-radar talent, while continuing to work regularly across the UK, America, and Europe.

Alongside his creative work, Ollie is deeply engaged with the impact AI is already having on songwriting. He believes technology should empower, not exploit, creators and is committed to advocating for clear, fair protections around consent, transparency, and compensation. Through PRS, he aims to help ensure songwriters’ voices are represented and their livelihoods protected as the industry evolves.

Current and recent directorships: None.

Manifesto

I have been a full-time songwriter, producer, and vocal producer for almost 15 years, and I still wake up every day feeling grateful that I get to do this for a living. I moved to London from North Yorkshire to pursue this career and experienced firsthand how difficult it is to break into songwriting and sustain a living.

I am an active songwriter, in constant conversation with artists, writers, and producers about the challenges they face and what could be improved. I regularly meet younger writers navigating the same hardships I once faced, and I feel a responsibility to give back and help where I can. Serving on the PRS Members’ Council is the ideal way to do this.

As both a writer and a producer, I understand the pressures on songwriters today. Many see their share of publishing reduced dramatically after landing a cut with a big artist or DJ, as additional writers are added to credits and earnings are diluted. I want to help normalise fair writer fees and master points, giving creators more stability and recognition for their work. I also want to strengthen the connection between PRS and its members, ensuring that struggling writers know their rights and feel empowered to advocate for fair remuneration.

The industry is evolving rapidly. Over 100,000 songs are now added to Spotify every single day, making it harder than ever for writers to stand out and earn a sustainable living. Meanwhile, AI is already having a profound impact on songwriting. I believe this technology should support creators, not undermine them, and I am committed to advocating for clear frameworks around consent, transparency, and fair compensation.

I feel that the council needs more perspective from people who are deeply embedded in the current creative landscape, who fully appreciate the challenges of building a career today, and who can speak to the practical support today’s songwriters need. If elected, I will use my experience and insight to help PRS members retain more of the publishing they deserve, navigate the evolving industry, and feel supported by the organisation that represents them. I would be honoured to serve, and I hope you will consider giving me your vote.
