Firestations are forged from four separate bands, bringing a melting pot of folk instrumentation and cosmic electronics to the indie-pop blueprint.

Spanning members of Astronauts, Dark Captain, Left With Pictures and Quickspace, their flugelhorns and flutes collide with drums-bass-guitar to create addictive melodies and alluring harmonies.

Their debut album Never Closer, released through Waltz Time Records late last year, expertly combined cyclical rhythms with kitchen-sink lyrical dramatics, bringing to mind Veronica Falls or Belle and Sebastian.

With a band that so obviously wear their musical influences on their sleeves (everything from Fela Kuti to Stereolab), we asked them to list out their favourite tracks of all time.

And here’s what they picked – a lovely, gooey mix of textural indie and folk. We hope you enjoy it!

Withered Hand - Hard On
The Wave Pictures - Leave That Scene Behind
Kurt Vile - Freeway
Sonic Youth - Shadow of a Doubt
