The Performing Right Society (PRS) is urging its Principal Voting members to consider standing for election to the Members’ Council in 2021.

This year, there is a publisher seat and two writer seats available.

The Council is focused on making sure that PRS is in close touch with the views, concerns and needs of its members. Newly appointed President Michelle Escoffery will lead the Council in its focus.

Its other priorities are strategic oversight, reviewing company performance and holding the Board to account. It approves the corporate strategy, annual budget and accounts, and the appointment of CEO and Board members.

As a Council Member, you will be able to influence the running of PRS and ensure that it continues to provide the best possible support and services to members.

Principal Voting members can put themselves forward to be a Council Member and can nominate other Principal Voting members to do the same.

A Council Member’s term of office last three years. At the end of each term Council Members need to retire, but can put themselves forward for re-appointment, subject to a limit of five three-year terms in total.

Further information can be found on the Q&A page. If you're a Principal Voting member and are interested in standing, get started now or contact the Company Secretary to guide you through the process.

You have until 5pm on Friday 19 February to send your nominations in.
