Greentea Peng, Millie Turner and Iyamah

On the 14 November 2019 we were joined by many, at our Kings Cross Office for the final edition of PRS Presents in 2019. A packed room of industry guests, members and partners from start to finish; with a wonderful line up of live performances from emerging talent Iyamah, storyteller Millie Turner and songstress Greentea Peng. A nice feel-good energy filled the room, whilst each act immersed our guests with their talent and songwriting.

About the artists

Greentea Peng

Greentea Peng, psychedelic soul songstress, born in Bermondsey South East London, influenced by all the places she holds most dear. Dark and light, half soul-searcher and half wise-cracking; Greentea Peng takes you on a thought-provoking journey with honest lyricism and broken flows, through sunshine rhythms and heavy sounds.

After breaking through with her hit ‘Downers’ (premiered on Color Sessions), she has managed to captivate an audience through her authentic sound and persona. Since this release, Greentea Peng has hit the festival scene by storm: The Great Escape, Boomtown, Latitude, Jam on Rye (with Kelis) and by joining Neneh Cherry on tour.  Greentea Peng will be performing at PRS Presents following her EP release ‘Rising’ (November 1st).

Millie Turner

Art and creativity have always been an important passion for Millie Turner. From being born into a family of artists, it seemed it was destiny that Millie would work somewhere in the creative industry. The discovery of song writing was by chance. At the age of 16, Millie realised how much music can connect to people on different levels to how she was able to express thing before with her paintings. Reaching success after her debut single ‘Underwater’ in 2017, Millie Turner is quickly becoming a one to watch emerging artist. Each song released so far is proving to show Millie's talents with storytelling and songwriting.

2019 has already been an exciting year for Millie; teaming up on a tour with rising star Becky Hill, entering a deal with AWAL and fastly growing an audience globally. 2020 is already looking as exciting as 2019 with the announcement of upcoming tour with Tove Lo in March.

Iyamah

Iyamah (pronounced I-yam-ah) is a fast-emerging act from the seaside town of Brighton. Iyamah was immersed by the festival culture at an early age and raised by her artistic mother who encouraged Iyamah’s creative mind. During her early years as a songwriter she was quickly noticed by independent label Sho Gun audio, who asked her to do her own toplines on a few dance tracks, where she is featured on ‘Senses’ by My Nu Leng.

Leaving Brighton for London at the age of 19, allowed Iyamah to embrace her roots and fall in love with neo-soul and hip hop. Since then, Iyamah has released her first single Cryptic Love in 2018, reaching over 1.5 million streams, followed by her first project ‘Truth EP1’, which lead to a tour with Mahalia and Masego.
