UK artists can now apply for funding to perform at two of South Korea’s most important industry events, MU:CON and Zandari Festival, as part of the Sound City Korea initiative.

Supported by Arts Council England, this is the fourth year that Sound City will take artists to MU:CON and Zandari, providing a gateway into the Korean music market.

Zandari Festival takes place from 5 to 7 October and its conference focuses on the live and independent sector, with 200 emerging artists performing in 22 venues.

MU:CON 2018 will take place in late September, with dates still to be confirmed, and focuses on publishing, sync licensing and music showcases.

Artists and their teams are encouraged to apply for funding to attend the showcases.

They should be based in England and include details of their current UK and international activity in their application as well as links to their music.

Applications are open until July 27. To learn more, and apply, see: https://form.jotformeu.com/61935061241348

Over the first three years of Sound City Korea, 73 UK artists and industry professionals have attended and showcased at Zandari Festa and MU:CON.

It is projected that previous Sound City Korea showcases generated more than $146,000 (£108,000) worth of investment spending on UK artists.
