Yizzy, a 17-year-old grime artist from south London, is the first recipient of The Future Fund which grants money to an artist at a tipping point in their career.
BBC Music Introducing has teamed up with PRS Foundation to launch the fund, in celebration of its 10 year anniversary.
Yizzy will receive the £5,000 grant, contributed by PRS Foundation, on 4 October at BBC Music Introducing Day.
The previous M Featured Artist has had a big year, winning a slot at Glastonbury Festival through the Emerging Talent competition and receiving critical acclaim from the likes of The Guardian and Dummy for his previous releases, This is Life and Steppin.
Alongside the grant, he'll receive BBC support across radio, TV and online and will get the chance to perform at BBC Music Introducing Live alongside George Ezra, Slaves and Blossoms.
He'll also receive mentoring and support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1Xtra DJs Phil Taggart, MistaJam, Logan Sama and Sian Anderson.
Yizzy is set to release his new single, Do You Wanna, in October.
