Music industry start up Brapp is offering rappers and vocalists the chance to win a live performance slot at the Boom Bap festival.

Taking place at Mildenhall in Suffolk on 29-31 July, the event is billed as the only dedicated hip hop festival in the UK with artists performing including Pharoahe Monch and Task Force.

Artists wanting to apply need to download Brapp, record a 16 bar verse and include the tag #boombapfestivalR2 when adding before Saturday 4 June 2016.

Pavan Muki creative director of Brapp said: ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Boom Bap - we’re big fans of the festival and how they are supporting emerging UK talent and representing the hip hop genre which is not at the forefront of industry focus at the moment.

‘The partnership with Boom Bap, for Brapp represents the first in many partnerships we plan to announce this year, showcasing Brapp’s significance as an A&R resource for the music industry. Labels are already paying attention with producers and artists using Brapp in over 80 countries, to look for musicians to collaborate with, but Brapp is also a great resource for live event producers, as we have some many amazing emerging artists using the app.’

Brapp functions as both a pocket studio and a social network, enabling users to make a one minute vocal and musical performance videos over the top of beats, which they can select from thousands uploaded by producers.
