The 10th edition of Scotland’s music convention will take place from 11 to 13 April in Edinburgh, and the organisers have invited artists based in Scotland to apply for the chance to perform at the event.

Acts from any genre of music are welcome to apply for the showcase slots, and a seminar hosted in conjunction with PRS Foundation will take place on 14 January in Glasgow to explain the criteria.

Previous showcase artists like Honeyblood, PAWS and Siobhan Wilson, were signed to record deals following their performances at Wide Days.

Alongside the showcases, this year’s conference will focus on music publishing with a workshop strand hosted by CMU:DIY and an additional session hosted by PPL.

The convention has also invited some of Europe’s showcase festivals and has also agreed an artist swap with the Welsh event, Focus Wales.

The event’s founder, Olaf Furniss says: ‘Wide Days has always had an open, welcoming outlook and we want to send a clear message to the international music community that Scotland wants to continue working with you.’

Wide Days was launched in 2010, and in 2014 was named Best Networking Event at the Yearly Music Convention Awards.
