Wayne Hector, songwriter for One Direction and James Blunt, has signed a new publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis UK.

Wayne is known as one of the most successful songwriters in pop music, having written hits for One Direction (Best Song Ever), James Blunt, John Newman and James Arthur in the last 12 months.

The songwriter has enjoyed international hits, having written for Nicki Minaj (Starships), The Wanted (Glad You Came) and Susan Boyle (Proud).

Joining BMG also reunites him with Steve Mac, a fellow BMG songwriter who collaborated on Westlife’s Flying Without Wings.

Jackie Davidson, Wayne’s manager, said: ‘We are enthusiastic and looking forward to integrating with the BMG family, both here in the UK and abroad and am sure it will help enhance and build upon what has been achieved to date.’

Kate Sweetsur, BMG Chrysalis UK senior creative director, added: ‘Wayne’s track record speaks for itself, and we are very excited about working with him across BMG’s international network and particularly in the US.’

Wayne Hector has most recently been working with Kylie, Rixton, the Fray and Tiesto.
