Multi-million-selling songwriter Wayne Hector, whose credits include huge hits for One Direction and Nicki Minaj, has become a patron of the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund.

Over his career, Hector has penned more than 30 number one singles to become one of the UK’s biggest musical exports.

In honour of his extraordinary global success, he received the prestigious International Achievement Award at the Ivor Novello Awards in 2016, adding to a slew of accolades he had already scored on both sides of the Atlantic.

Hector said: ‘I am very pleased to become a part of the PRS Members Fund as one of their patrons. It is an honour to have the opportunity to be able to promote such a worthwhile cause as the Fund provides invaluable resources and support to our industry for songwriters, composers and their families.’

Songwriter Nicky Graham, chairman of the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund, added: ‘We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ivor Novello Award winner Wayne Hector as one of our patrons.

‘Wayne will be helping to promote the Fund and the great work it does on behalf of songwriters and composers to support them and their families in times of difficulty. He’ll be a great ambassador for us and we’re looking forward to starting work with Wayne in the next few weeks.’
