Lady Sanity, Paigey Cakey and Laurie Mann are among the artists confirmed for Urban Development’s largest ever showcase at The Great Escape this year.

They will be joined by Allana Verde and The Compozers at the talent incubator’s Industry Takeover Showcase at Patterns, Brighton, on 18 May.

Urban Development is also hosting the Redefining Music Education panel on 16 May, exploring a 12-month study into how industry and entrepreneurial skills might be integrated into the music curriculum.

On 17 May, Lloyd Bradley, author of Sounds Like London, will be in conversation with BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s Jamz Supernova about the history of urban music and culture in London from 1919 to the present.

This will be followed by Urban Development’s Culture Punch’ drinks mixer, at Mash Tun, Brighton, providing a chance for artists and industry to network.

All events are open to festival delegates.

Urban Development supports its artists via funding from PRS Foundation's  Talent Development Partner scheme.
