Hackney rapper Mikill Pane (above) and grime MC Devilman lead Brapp app’s new Brapp TV channel launch on YouTube.

The music-based social network's channel will feature exclusives from a string of UK and US urban artists over the coming days, also including FRAZE, SAS and Clams Casino.

Brapp TV's first video premiere is a one-take recording of Pane, who performed a version of his track Trafalgar Square while circling Trafalgar Square in a black cab.

The company, which connects producers and artists around the world, has also launched the Brapp Recordings record label in partnership with distributor Believe Digital.

The label will release audio tracks recorded via Brapp’s growing video network, taking care of post-production, promo and distribution for unsigned artists.

Pane, an Ed Sheeran collaborator, said: ‘Brapp and their Brapp HD series is a unique progression of live music videos – I think music fans want the aesthetic of a music video and are used to high quality production values in film so to be able to deliver this with a live video is amazing.

‘It fully captures the vibe of a live performance and in such unique locations. Launching a record label as well to release these recordings is brilliant – I think this is something music platforms should have been doing years ago as live freestyles and live versions of tracks are popular in the rap community and will do well on streaming services.’

Brapp is a social platform which allows producers to upload beats and anyone to record a one-minute video on top, mix down the audio, add audio and visual effects and instantly share the results with their followers.

It was created by brothers Niki and Pavan Mukhi and launched earlier this year.
