Trevor Horn wins MPG’s Outstanding Contribution award

Trevor Horn, acclaimed producer and hitmaker, has won the Music Producers Guild’s (MPG) Outstanding Contribution to UK Music award.

Trevor Horn, acclaimed producer and hitmaker, has won the Music Producers Guild’s (MPG) Outstanding Contribution to UK Music award. 

The producer has worked with a huge range of acts over a music business career spanning 30 years.

His musical CV includes work with Frankie Goes to Hollywood, ABC, Grace Jones, and Robbie Williams. Previously, he earned the nickname ‘The man who invented the 80s’ after working on Band Aid’s‘ Do They Know It’s Christmas? and musical projects with the Pet Shop Boys.

Steve Levine, chairman of the MPG, said: I'm thrilled that the MPG is recognising Trevor with this award.

‘I have known Trevor for over 30 years and have always admired his innovative production skills. He has always pioneered the use of new technology and is always happy to exchange and share his knowledge with other producers and with manufactures to help move that technical curve further forward. He is a very worth recipient of this extremely prestigious award.’

Trevor’s latest band is called the Producers and includes various musicians/producers such as Lol Crème, Steve Lipson and singer/songwriter Chris Braide.

He will be presented with the prize at a the MPG’s 2014 Awards Ceremony, which takes place on 13 February at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel.
