The Great Escape adds 100 new artists

D Double E, grime artist Frisco, and Lady Leshurr are among 100 new artists added to the bill for The Great Escape (TGE) 2016.

D Double E, grime artist Frisco, and Lady Leshurr are among 100 new artists added to the bill for The Great Escape (TGE) 2016.

The 2016 Great Escape will kick off this year’s festival season when it returns to Brighton, 19-21 May.

The event is well known as a hot bed for new talent with this year’s event expecting to see more than 450 artists perform at over 30 venues in the city.

Among the new additions are Stockport psych-rock five-piece Blossoms. They will return to TGE for a second year after a stellar 12 months on the live circuit.

Other artists include a number of grime artists, showing how the genre is once again under the spotlight with D Double E from grime pioneers Newham Generals on the bill.

Commenting, he said: ‘I'm looking forward to coming to shell down The Great Escape Festival in Brighton with my brothers Frisco and Logan Sama! Bluku bluku!!’

These artists join the recently announced Oh Wonder, Shura, Mura Masa, Dagny, Dilly Dally, Banfi, Isaac Gracie, salute, Declan McKenna and more up and coming acts.
