On 20 September 2010, acclaimed group Status Quo were honoured with a PRS for Music Heritage Award.

A dedicated plaque was unveiled in Eltham, South London where the group, then known as ‘The Status Quo’, first performed in 1967 at the Welcome Inn.  The site now forms part of Weston Homes’ The Edens residential development.

The band were thankful to PRS for Music for honouring the venue where their career took off.

"We’re honoured and delighted that our musical career has been chosen to be marked in this way. Some forty three years, 118 million records and 64 hit singles later we look back to that night here at what was the Welcome Inn with fondness and thanks."- Status Quo lead singer, Francis Rossi
