Slowthai and The 1975 lead NME Award nominations

Twenty-seven PRS for Music members have been nominated for awards across 17 categories.

Twenty-seven PRS for Music members have been nominated for awards across 17 categories.

Slowthai leads the pack with seven nominations in total, including Best Album in the World and Best Solo Act in the World.

The 1975 are close behind with five nominations and are in contention for Best Band in the World and Best Festival Headliner.

Meanwhile, FKA twigs and AJ Tracey have clocked up four nominations each and will go head-to head in the Best British Solo Act and Best Solo Act in the World categories.

The winners will be revealed at London's O2 Academy Brixton on 12 February and NME has also announced that The 1975 will be joining Yungblud and Beabadoobee in performing live at the ceremony.

Foals have gathered multiple nominations for their album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost, Pt. 1 and as a live act, while newcomers Easy Life also picked up three nods.

This year’s Godlike Genius Award will go to Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis.

The NME Awards are shortlisted and eventually decided by the core NME team, while a select number of awards are voted for by fans.
