Calling all bands and musicians: now is your chance to call for the government to support free movement for musicians, post-Brexit.

The Musicians’ Union (MU) is petitioning for free movement to continue for musicians working in the EU, with minimum administrative burdens.

Explaining the necessity of the petition, the MU said: 'Musicians who’ve had to go through the visa process for the United States know how costly and confusing it can be.

'We don’t want musicians’ rights in the EU to go backwards, and we don’t want music in the EU – or the UK – to be restricted by unnecessary expense or bureaucratic burdens.'

Currently at over 17,000 signatures, the petition is being run alongside a pledge, asking MPs, Peers and MEPs to commit to doing all they can to ensure musicians are able to travel easily across Europe, post-Brexit, for activities such as touring and performing.

You can sign the Change.org petition here and write to your MP asking them to sign the pledge.

Share photos from touring and working in the EU using the hashtag #WorkingInTheEU.
