The music recognition company believes that Rita Ora will scoop the British Breakthrough Act gong, while Calvin Harris will receive the British Male Solo Artist award. Meanwhile One Direction are expected to take the Best British Group accolade.

Shazam based its predictions on the data from more than 14 million people in the UK who used its app to tag songs between January and December 2012 and discover more information about the tracks they liked.

The company says its tag data has previously proven very effective in predicting who will win awards at major ceremonies, including the Grammys earlier this month. Shazam correctly predicted three of the top four awards including Record of the Year (Gotye) and Best New Artist (Fun).
