Saint Etienne have announce they are to release their first album in seven years.

The news comes as the indie-pop stalwarts release a new single, Tonight, which was produced by Tim Powell of Xenomania and mixed by Richard X.

Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley says of the new song: 'Tonight is about the anticipation of going to see your favourite group. For some reason I imagine this show is at the Forum in Kentish Town. The whole album is about the power of pop, how it affects and shapes your life.'

You can download Tonight from www.saintetienne.com for a limited period.
