Rudimental have topped the album charts for the second time with their new album, We The Generation.
According to Official Charts Company (OCC) data, the record finished with more than double the sales of its nearest competitor, Ed Sheeran’s second album x.
The LP is the follow up to their debut chart topper Home and features appearances from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Bobby Womack and Lianne La Havas.
Commenting, band member Amir Amor said: ‘This is mad! When I think back to some of the seminal bands I’ve always loved, they all had at least two major records.
‘I always dreamed of Rudimental having at least two major records – hopefully it will solidify to the world that we’re serious contenders in the game. We’re not going anywhere - we plan to stick around for a long time.’
Meanwhile, Rudimental are the latest artist to use UK start-up Disciple Media’s platform to launch a mobile app.
Out in time to promote their second album the app promises live streams, videos, band/fan chats, pre-sale ticketing, competitions and ‘app-only merchandise’.
