PRS Members’ Fund is continuing to offer assistance to those PRS members who are facing financial hardship during these winter months via its Winter Crisis Scheme.

PRS Fund was started in 1934 to support songwriters and composers during the Great Depression. 90 years later, it continues to be a valuable resource for PRS members and their dependants in times of crisis.

If you are a songwriter or composer struggling to keep up with household bills due to the increasing cost of living, applications for the Winter Crisis Scheme are still open until 31 March.

To be eligible for the scheme, you must be a UK resident, have joined PRS before 1 October 2016 or earned at least £500 in PRS royalties since joining, and have less than £16,000 in savings.

John Logan, PRS Members’ Fund General Secretary, said of the scheme: 'Long-term sick, families, single parents and older people are once again in the firing line as a result of the cost-of-living crisis and will face huge additional costs this winter.

'The PRS Members’ Fund is here to support those vulnerable PRS members who are struggling to make ends meet.'

One Winter Crisis Scheme recipient added of their experience: 'We are so grateful the PRS Fund were able to allocate these funds to help us. I can’t express enough how happy this has made me and my family.

'We are able to better enjoy this winter with hope, smiles and less stress… and stay warm!'
