PRS for Music supports EU Copyright Directive for Creators

Later this month MEPs will vote on the Copyright Directive after the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament agreed on the final text in February, and PRS for Music are in full support as it’s a big step forward for creators.

Later this month MEPs will vote on the Copyright Directive after the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament agreed on the final text in February, and PRS for Music are in full support as it’s a big step forward for creators.

After more than 17 years, the EU is considering updating copyright laws for the digital age, and although PRS for Music loves content and is not anti-tech, rightsholders deserve to be rewarded.

The UK music industry has united to urge EU members of Parliament to support the directive, but the campaign has faced opposition from big tech companies. Find out about the facts surrounding Article 13 here
