The global annual Piano Day festival, founded by Nils Frahm, returns for its third edition next week.
As with previous years, it takes place on the 88th day of the year due to the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated, this year on Wednesday 29 March.
With over 45 events worldwide, the 2017 edition will be the biggest Piano Day celebration yet.
In London, independent publisher Manners McDade is teaming up with Spotify and the Barbican Centre for a special event.
There will be six grand pianos from the lauded Austrian manufacturer Feurich-Wein placed in the centre's foyer, with the Piano Circus emsemble performing two free concerts between 1pm and 6pm.
The concerts will feature a world premiere piece for six pianos by composer Angus MacRae, Nils Frahm’s Hammers, Steve Reich’s Six Pianos, David Lang’s Face So Pale and Graham Fitkin’s Log.
