Philip Pope has been announced as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees at PRS Members’ Fund.

The seasoned composer and songwriter, who was initially appointed as a Fund trustee in 2021, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He also currently serves as an elected Writer Council Member on the PRS Members’ Council.

Known for his work composing music for such TV productions as Outnumbered, Spitting Image and The Fast Show, Philip’s appointment as Chairman comes, as the Fund’s General Secretary John Logan noted in a statement, ‘at a pivotal time for the industry’.

‘We are incredibly fortunate to have a leader who combines such a rich artistic legacy with a steadfast dedication to the welfare of his fellow creators,’ John added about Philip’s appointment. ‘We look forward to seeing PRS Members’ Fund thrive under his guidance as we enter this new chapter in 2026.’

Speaking about his new role, Philip said: ‘I am honoured to chair the PRS Members’ Fund, with its long history of helping songwriters and composers. Over the past few years the Fund has seen much positive change, including a governance review in 2025. With our strategic plan in place, the Fund can continue to make a real difference to the lives of members who need our support, now more than ever, in the changing music landscape and uncertain times they face.

‘I look forward to the challenges ahead, and to working with John Logan and his dedicated team.’
