Nova Twins and Rozelle will be performing as part of a new live music tour addressing gender inequality in the music industry.

Previously known as Finding the Female Headliner, the ROAR showcase was started by promoters Robomagic and aims to provider a platform for talented female musicians, tackling the lack of female headliners on festival bills.

The showcase will now take to the UK for the first time, with four dates in September 2016, partnering with the PRS for Music Foundation and Eve Appeal.

Kath Butler, event promoter, said: ‘The rebrand stemmed from a desire to change the name. We decided on ROAR as it denotes a fierce and powerful voice whilst not speaking to a prescribed gender orientation. This made us review the core values of the night and instead of simply addressing the lack of female headliners on festival line ups, we’d rather the night address the inequality at the core of the music industry by giving a platform to all its marginalized yet talented voices.’

Performing acts include avant garde synth poppers Rozelle in Bristol, urban punk duo Nova Twins in Manchester and Brighton off the back of their debut EP release and slick electronic outfit Lovestarrs fka The Good Natured.

Presented in partnership with the PRS for Music Foundation, all ticket proceeds will go to the Eve Appeal, the only UK national charity raising awareness and funding research in the five gynaecological cancers. Further information on the Eve Appeal can be found here.
