The Queen's New Year's Honours list includes people who have excelled in the field of music, as artists, composers and behind the scenes in administration and business. Special congratulations to all the  music-related recipients, who are listed below.

Knighthoods
Antonio Pappano, Music Director at the Royal Opera House receives a Knighthood for his services to music.

CBE recipients
Music producer Steve Lillywhite and philanthropist Ian Stoutzker OBE  are both awarded the CBE for services to music.

OBE recipients
The Reverend Ronald Corp - Founder and Artistic Director of the New London Orchestra for services to music.

The Roundhouse's Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Marcus Davey for services to music and drama.

Margaret Liddy, the Director of Events and Charities at the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for services to music and charity.

MBE recipients
Ralph Allwood, who was Precentor and Director of Music at Eton College for 26 years for services to choral music.

The Musical Director of the Police Service of Northern Ireland Ladies Choir, Esther Anderson for services to music and the community.

Trevor Cowlett  for services to music in Oxford.

Surjit Ghuman, the founder of Panjab Radio for services to broadcasting.

The composer John Metcalf for services to music.

Ealing Youth Orchestra founder John Railton for services to music.

Charles Rawlinson for charitable services to young people and music.

The  DJ and broadcaster David Rodigan for services to broadcasting.

Clarence Sarkodee-Adoo for services to music.

Marilyn Smith, the Conductor and Musical Director of the Glasgow Phoenix Choir for services to music.

Leo Solomon services to music in Grimsby.
