The New Music 20x12 extravaganza will take over London’s Southbank Centre later this month, with an ambitious programme offering free concerts, discounted tickets, composing workshops and debates.

The project, initiated by PRS for Music Foundation for the Cultural Olympiad, involves some of the UK’s most exciting musical talent, including Graham Fitkin, Sally Beamish, Jason Yarde and Joe Cutler.

At its heart is the performance of 20 new compositions, each 12 minutes long. The works are inspired by the dynamism of Olympic and Paralympic sports, and represent a once in a lifetime opportunity to create music for an important global celebration. This will be the first and only time they all can be encountered in one place over one weekend.

The full programme and tickets for the free events, including the workshops, can be found on the Southbank Centre website
