The next Music Publishers Association (MPA) Specialist Seminar will delve into new disruptive technologies including blockchain, cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence.

The one-day event, entitled (Not) Another Blockchain Seminar! takes place on 16 October at the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) HQ in London and will address the impact of this new technology on music publishing.

The programme includes sessions on the role of cryptocurrencies within the collecting society network, how artificial intelligence can be harnessed for future creativity and the licensing of virtual reality content.

Speakers confirmed so far include Steve Hancock (founder, Melody VR), Manan Vohra (operations director, 7 Digital), Becky Brook (commercial lead, JAAK), Alyssa Stringer (product manager, Audio Network) and Paul Dilorito (director of innovation and partnerships, PRS for Music).
