Rachel Portman, Ian Arber, Ben and Nick Foster and Walter Smith are among the composers shortlisted for the 2017 Music+Sound Awards.
Portman is nominated in the Best Original Composition in Broadcast Advertising category with Christmas With Love From Mrs Claus for the Marks and Spencer campaign.
The Foster brothers, Arber and Smith receive nods for the Best Original Composition in a Feature Film Score with Thunderbirds Are Go, I Am Bolt and Bloodorange respectively.
Now in their sixth year, the Music+Sound Awards for those who practice and commission the crafts of music composition, supervision and sound design in the media industries.
Thirty-seven leading industry figures, including composers Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Martian) and Cristobal Tapia de Veer (The Girl with all the Gifts), plus Charlie Gatsky, head of production at BBH, were among this year’s finalists.
Emma Maguire, Sound+Music managing director, said: ‘This is our sixth year of running The Music+Sound Awards, and it is with huge pride that we have seen more entries than ever, and more people engaging with our mission - which is to celebrate the achievements in music and sound that are often overlooked by other awards.’
