MPA unveils latest induction course

The Music Publishers Association (MPA) has announced details of its next induction course for newcomers to the industry.

The Music Publishers Association (MPA) has announced details of its next induction course for newcomers to the industry.

It takes place on 10 and 11 May 2016 and will provide an overview of the publishing business, its organisations and their roles.

Each session will be conducted by an expert in their field, including Andy Ellis and Mike Hyland (PRS for Music), Jenny Oakes (JW Media Music), and Sheena Sheikh Brown and James Seadon (Field Fisher LLP).

Topics covered include copyright, publishing agreements, the role of collecting societies, songwriter, composers and publisher income streams and the work of the MPA.

They will be joined by singer, songwriter, composer and arranger Hannah Peel.

The event costs:

£155 +VAT (£186) for MPA and PRS for Music staff
£190 +VAT (£228) for AIM, BASCA, BPI, MMF, MPG and MU members
£215 + VAT (£258) for the self-employed and students (subject to ID)
£250 + VAT (£300) for all others
