The Performing Arts and Music department from Leicester College is inviting budding musicians and singers to attend its pop-up area at Summer Sundae Festival. There, musicians will find everything they need to record a mini-demo CD, including guitars, keyboards, synths, and recording equipment. Each session lasts an hour, ample time to put together a CD, and with everything there set up for you, you don't need to bring anything but yourselves.

John Meredith, Programme Area Manager for Music and Sound Engineering at Leicester College, explains: 'We are asking people to get in touch to book a session with us – whether it’s for you, your mates, an up-and-coming or well-established band – anyone attending the festival is welcome to come and record with us and benefit from our expertise!

'Each session will last an hour, allowing musicians to be as creative and innovative with their music as possible. We will then create a rough mix of the session and burn onto a CD which can be taken away on the day.'

The college is also putting together a professionally mixed album made up from songs from all of the sessions, entitled Summer Sundae Pop-Up Sessions which will be available for download.

Sessions will be available from 11am to 7pm from 17 to 19 August 2012, and will take place at Leicester's De Montfort Hall and Gardens. For further information about the technical requirements or to obtain a registration form to pre-book your session, please email Laura Stannard from Leicester College.
