M was saddened to hear of the passing of Jonathan Simon.
Jonathan was a great servant of the music publishing industry, having been Managing Director of Chappell Music during the 80s. During this time Jonathan mentored many individuals who have since gone on to become important industry figures - a great testament to Jonathan’s innate ability to motivate people and keenness to pass on his wealth of knowledge and experience.
Jonathan served on the MCPS and PRS boards for many years and was MCPS Chairman twice. He was an active member of the MPA pop publishers committee and was recently reappointed to the MPA board, which he had previously chaired for a number of years during the 90s.
