BAFTA award winning composer Jessica Curry is to host the new High Score show on Classic FM dedicated to videogame music.

Starting from 22 April, the six-week run will be the first series on UK radio celebrating videogame soundtracks.

The first show will be a BAFTA Game Awards special, as Jessica looks back at the event and plays some of the best scores from the winners and nominees.

Future themes include a programme celebrating female composers, performers and games characters; another on the music that has influenced Jessica as a gamer and a games composer; and a request show with every piece of music chosen by Classic FM’s listeners.

Commenting, Jessica said: 'I’m delighted to be presenting Classic FM’s brand new series on video game music, High Score. I’m a passionate advocate of both classical and game music and there’s so much exciting crossover between these two worlds.

'There are now orchestral concerts of game music touring the finest concert halls across the globe and it’s wonderful that Classic FM is recognising the diversity and richness in the field with a dedicated show. There is so much fantastic music to share and discover and I’m really proud to join the Classic FM team.'
