Nubya Garcia, Zara McFarlane, Ezra Collective and Moses Boyd (pictured) are among the new wave of British jazz artists and composers who will showcase their sounds at SXSW 2018 under the Outernational banner.

Blue Lab Beats plus Ashley Henry and the Re:Ensemble will also make the journey to Texas to play the world’s largest music convention and festival next month.

The show, which takes place on 14 March at Main II, Austin, forms part of a two-year programme organised by Jazz Re:freshed and British Underground, with support from PRS Foundation’s International Showcase Fund.

It follows the inaugural Jazz Re:freshed Outernational showing last year, which saw Go Go Penguin, Boyd, United Vibrations and Native Dancer play to packed SXSW crowds.

The artists went on to win plaudits from global tastemakers and the show spawned a series of events in partnership with Brooklyn-based festival promoter AFROPUNK in Europe and North America, plus sold-out performances at SIM Festival Brazil.
