The December edition of M magazine has just landed and it's packed with essential content!

For this issue’s cover feature, we hang out with Bristol punks IDLES as they celebrate their gigantic 2017 with a hot sweaty mess of a sold-out tour.

Elsewhere, we meet the new wave of artists and creatives who are reframing their sexuality in music and pushing sonic and social boundaries: from the lo-fi, noisy anthems of The Spook School and Shopping, to vital voices like singer/songwriter Ezra Furman and the women behind Glastonbury safe space, The Sisterhood.

We also delve into the sonic world of creators like Bjork-influencer David Toop and Brian Eno-tipped newcomer Belle Chen, who are downing instruments in favour of capturing the natural noises outside their studio.

Are you a musician who has ever struggled with mental health? We check in with music psychologist Dr Claire Renfrew who offers vital coping mechanisms for creatives.

This issue’s Sound Effect comes from award-winning songwriter, saxophonist, bandleader and broadcaster YolanDa Brown who shares the songs that have soundtracked her life, while in our Members & Music section, we hear about the new, long-lost record from cult indie heroes' Television Personalities.

We also chat to the composers behind BBC One's hit wildlife series, Blue Planet II, to find out how they brought the marvel of the planet’s oceans to life.

You’ll find all that and much more, so go on, dig in…
