This year’s International Music Summit (IMS) will focus on health and wellness for mind and body, and alleged sexual harassment within the music industry.

The global platform for electronic music will return to Ibiza in May, bringing a wellness retreat and wellbeing strand to its usual mix of workshops, keynotes, panels and more.

The retreat takes place before the main IMS summit at a soon-to-be-revealed location. Tailored for the dance music community, it will help industry veterans and newcomers disconnect from everyday stress, setting the foundation for meaningful work and providing tools to stay focused, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Elsewhere, the She Said So network will chair a talk on sexual harassment in DJ culture, assessing the impact of the issue and its root causes before presenting actionable recommendations.

There will also be an open discussion about mental health in dance music, hosted by the Association for Electronic Music, which will provide advice on ‘how to stay sane in the game’ and remain successful.

Continuing the focus of wellness into the summit, IMS delegates will also be able to attend daily yoga and meditation sessions.

IMS Ibiza will also feature discussions hosted by Burn Residency, Kid Talks and Young Guns Network, alongside panels on blockchain, bots and the rising demand for electronic music in the Middle East.

IMS co-founder Ben Turner said: Health Vs Hedonism was our most popular talk in 2017, and it put us on the path of delivering more in the Wellness area for delegates. It’s a topic that is marrying professionals of all ages and gender, and we’re excited to offer something unique to an industry that is in need of greater advice and direction.

‘It also affects many of the issues in our space, and people’s behavioural patterns around it. We’re also proud to focus on Black Coffee, Sonar and Positiva for their contributions to our world – past, present and future.’

IMS Ibiza 2018 takes place from 23 to 25 May. For more info, see http://www.internationalmusicsummit.com/ibiza/attend/
