Pandr Eyez and Gibson Bull are among the finalists of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition 2014.

Hero-Fisher, Only Girl, M+A, FURS, the Black Tambourines and Izzy Bizu make up the rest of the shortlisted artists.

The acts were selected by Glastonbury judges from a longer list of 120 artists compiled by online UK music writers.

Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis said: ‘We're so proud of this shortlist. It was really hard to get it down to just eight acts - the standard this year was incredible - but I think we've whittled it down to a really strong final eight.

‘I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone who entered, and to our team of judges for narrowing it down to 120 acts. Now bring on the live final!’

This year's invite-only final will take place at Pilton Working Men's Club on Saturday 5 April, 2014.

The winners will be given a slot on one of the main stages at this year's festival.

Meanwhile, Glastonbury Festival’s organisers simultaneously announced that the event will be running until 2024 after being granted a new 10-year licence by Mendip District Council. The granting of the licence means more staff will be allowed on the site while current capacity for public tickets will remain at 135,000.

Pandr Eyez performed at our M magazine and PRS for Music showcase alongside Shlomo at the Getty Images Gallery.
