Gig in a Gallery (GIAG) is to hold a fundraising auction of signed CDs and photographs from a host of artists including Jamie Cullum, Wilko Johnson and Imelda May.

GIAG is organised by jazz singer Melissa James to raise money for Fixers, an initiative set up to help young people ‘use their past to fix their future’.

The auction will take place this Thursday 4 December and will offer a range of music-related items. A limited edition signed print of the late jazz musician Stan Tracey and a signed, framed print of Wilko Johnson make up just some of the merchandise up for grabs.

Melissa says: The best thing about GIAG is that it reinforces my faith in humanity. Several artists – major and emerging - have donated their work to the auction and the concerts only happen as a result of many individuals and businesses coming together to give their time and support.

‘It is a great example of ‘Big Society’.  Music, art and community come together to raise money for charity.’
