Calling itself 'the gateway to the French music market', MaMa 2012 promises to be 'two days full of music'. And that's an accurate description, what with the 80 concerts, eight venues and 10 'unusual places' planned for the festival.

The first few acts to be revealed include favourite French export Pony Pony Run Run and the Finnish girl group Le Corps Mince de Francoise, whose noise rock/electro sound defies true genrefication. However, as a festival that isn't just about enjoying music but also about working within the industry that creates and maintains it, several conference topics have already been decided too.

Topics for discussion include 'Staying alive! One hit wonder - superstar - or somewhere in between?', 'An outsiders view of the French market - to see ourselves as others see us' and perhaps something which will be the most hotly debated of all: 'Digital economy: is everybody winning?'.

Viewed as a leading networking event for music professionals, MaMa is a brilliant opportunity to discover new artists, learn about current music trends and expand your network. Tickets are available from the MaMa website.
