North Wales and Chester The Reads specialise in expansive, spaced out, electronic, folk rock.  Several years of writing, recording and performing together culminated in the release of their debut album Stories From the Border in 2011. The album, features a number of string and brass arrangments by composer Joe Duddell (Elbow, James), was produced by Jim Spencer (The Charlatans, Jonny Marr, New Order).

The album has been played by Jeremy Vine on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Wales BBC Radio Merseyside, XFM and Amazing Radio.  Stories From the Border was awarded Alternative Album of the Year at the Ladylake Music Awards (USA) and The Reads were named as Shakenstir Online’s New UK Band of the Year 2011.  The success of their debut album has enabled The Reads to sign their first publishing deal with London based music publishers ASongs, home of Fatboy Slim and Stereo MCs.
