Elgar manuscript discovered

An original Edward Elgar manuscript has been found in the strongroom of a council offices.

An original Edward Elgar manuscript has been found in the strongroom of a council offices.

Carillon Chimes, a piece written to celebrate the Carillon Tower, Loughborough in 1923, was discovered in a folder during a clear-out at Charnwood Borough Council.

In addition to the handwritten manuscript, a film reel was discovered. The footage is believed to be of the opening of the Carillon Tower, which was built to commemorate soldiers who were killed during World War One.
