The English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) has announced its summer season of activities including classes, courses and workshops for songwriters and musicians.

Activities include Get Your Folk On!, a music-making course for 12 to 19-year-olds, an American folk workshop with singer and multi-instrumentalist Dom Flemons and a series of all ages music classes covering banjo, fiddle, melodeon, guitar and song.

The programme also features drop-in Monday jams for musicians of all levels and two conferences - Inclusive Folk: music and dance with disabled young people and adults and The Appalachian Conference.

Elsewhere, the London Youth Folk Ensemble, EFDSS’ resident youth folk collective, are inviting young folk bands from across the capital to join them for an afternoon of sessions, open mic and more. The session will culminate in an evening concert showcasing London’s emerging young folk talent.

All activities will take place at Cecil Sharp House, London, home to EFDSS and the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library.
