Classical Revolution, the world’s most successful classical music club night, débuts in London on Friday 23 March at the Red Hedgehog in Highgate, and on Tuesday 27 March at the Green Carnation in Soho (performances start at 7pm).

The club began in San Francisco in 2006 and is a pioneer of the approachable classical music movement. Classical Revolution has since spread to over 25 cities worldwide. It offers a night that’s totally different from a standard classical music concert.

Classical Revolution brings classical music out of the symphonic halls and into your favourite local venues, where you can chat with the performers over a beer and enjoy informal ‘jam sessions’ with some of the world’s top singers and instrumental performers.

The project is not for profit, and brings together music aficionados and newbies together under one roof to celebrate excellent music and brilliant performances.

The launch concerts will be headlined by cellist Richard Harwood (EMI Classics), and will feature the Busch Ensemble (winners of the 2012 Royal Overseas League competition), legendary ‘Baroque-and-roll’ band The Frolick, violinist David Worswick of the London Symphony Orchestra, and top musicians from many of London’s major orchestras and classical ensembles.

Classical Revolution is curated in London by Royal Academy of Music violinist Simon Hewitt Jones, who said: 'People in London are starting to realise that anyone can enjoy classical music, and the classical scene is enjoying an incredible renaissance right now. The more time you spend listening to Classical, the more you get out of it, and that’s exactly what Classical Revolution is all about – getting amazing performers to present their classical favourites in a compelling, personable way, in a really informal environment that anyone can enjoy.'

Classical Revolution London is supported by Charith Premawardhana who founded Classical Revolution in San Francisco in 2006, as well as the international network of musicians who are involved with the project around the world.
