The band are loved the world over for their catchy electro hook laden songs, and Theme For Velodrome is no exception. A fast paced track that picks up speed quickly, it is supposed to reflect the 'sense of speed, pace and drama' that can be felt during track cycling events, and also reflect the 'incredible beauty' of the vast building that will host the events.

At the last Olympics in Beijing, Great Britain took home seven gold medals for track cycling. There will be 10 in total awarded at this year's events.

Cycling will not be the only event this year soundtracked by popular British artists. Muse announced their song, Survival, will be the official song of London 2012 on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. A powerful, guitar fuelled song, Matt Bellamy delivers an inspiring and uplifting vocal with the experimental guitar riffs so typical of Muse.

British writer, singer and producer Mark Ronson also worked with Coca Cola, travelling the world to record sound effects of Olympians from around the globe to create a track punctuated by the sounds from Olympics sports, but pinned together by the vocals of British singer and MC Katy B.
