Bring Me The Horizon and Biffy Clyro are among the British rock acts nominated in this year’s Kerrang! Awards.

The former are shortlisted for the best album for Sempiternal, Best Single and best video for Shadow Moses and best British band.

Biffy Clyro’s Opposites has been nominated for best album while fellow British UK guitar act Enter Shikari are up for best band and best live act, an accolade they won at last year’s event.

James McMahon, Editor of Kerrang!, said: ‘I can say for a fact that all other awards ceremonies are crap compared to ours. I know this because I've been to loads of them, and ours is the only one where I've ever ended up on a rooftop talking to Jack Black about what pigeon tastes like at 3am.’

‘The secret is that we only do this for the fans. Yeah, I know that makes me sound like Bob Geldof or something. But it's true. We only do this to celebrate the music the readers love, and to create new stories and a bit of magic that makes the music world that little bit more exciting than it would be if we didn't get a whole load of stars in a room and say, 'Let's rock!’

Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian will host the event at London’s Troxy venue on 13 June.

Rock and metal fans can vote for their favourite acts and musicians on the Kerrang! awards website.
